August 20 we feature the record "Study in Brown" by Clifford Brown. Performing the record will be the trumpeter, Victor Garcia and his quintet to include Rocky Vera on sax, Stuart Mindeman on keys, Josh Ramos on bass, Xavier Breaker on drums. Despite a early and tragic death at the age of 25 in 1956, Clifford Brown continues to be a major influence trumpeters and jazz. He is best known for his collaboration with Max Roach Showcased artwork and live painting by Ben Salus. Ben’s style can best be described as mixed media collage painting. He has been focusing on this technique for over a decade. His subject matter reflects his struggles, travels and family from his ancestors to his wife and two children.
