  | Wednesday, November 8th at 9pm: The Jazz Record Art Collective is proud to present a DOUBLE SHOW on Wednesday November 8th! At 9pm Andy Brown & Dennis Carroll will kick things off with Jim Hall & Ron Carter's Alone Together from 1974. Then at 10pm The Peter Saxe Trio will conclude with McCoy Tyner's Inception from 1962. I. ALBUM BACKGROUND: “Alone Together is long considered a classic and a revelation to listeners who had taken guitarist Jim Hall for granted, this set of duets with bassist Ron Carter has near-telepathic communication between the two musicians and quiet music full of inner tension and fire. Hall and Carter brought in an original apiece and also collaborated on six standards, including "St. Thomas," "Softly As in a Morning Sunrise," "Autumn Leaves," and "Alone Together." The impossibly fluid lines that Tyner spins on virtually every track are even more intricate and sustained than those which he produced in the confines of the Coltrane group, and they are executed with a touch that is almost unbelievably light.
